This is the first programme designed to specifically address the issue of business growth for rural based businesses, and is modeled on the successful Owner Managers Programme the Icehouse and the University of Auckland Business School have been running for three years. The programme is about business growth and wealth creation - how to build profitability and value into the business. It is not about increasing yield or becoming a better farmer. The focus is the BUSINESS of farming, as opposed to the activity.
Everyone on the programme will be an owner/manager of a successful agribusiness, which provides great opportunities for networking. A broad cross section of businesses on both sides of the Tasman are being targeted, including farmers of all types, and fisheries as well as processors.
The programme has been developed collaboratively by Massey University, The University of Melbourne, The University of Auckland and the Icehouse. This programme is practical. During the blocks you will hear from guest speakers from the world of business that will keep you stimulated and excited. You will also hear from professionals who specialise in the financial, legal and each of the functional areas of business. Presenters will include:
Most importantly you will become part of a group of 20 trans-Tasman business owners from agricultural businesses who have the same goal of growing their business. This programme will form trans-Tasman support networks and friendships that will last well beyond the duration of the programme.
The programme runs for three days a month over four months. Blocks one and four will be held in New Zealand and blocks two and three in Australia. A maximum of 10 applicants will be accepted to attend the programme from Australia and 10 from New Zealand.

The programme fees are NZD$7,995 GST for New Zealand businesses and AUD$7,995 GST for Australian businesses. Accommodation, travel, meals and other costs are in addition to this.
