ACCLIPSE–RED SKY JOINT VENTURE TO PROVIDE ACCOUNTANTS WITH SINGLE SOFTWARE SOLUTION TO BENCHMARK ALL BUSINESSES
We are 1-2 months away from delivering a highly automated solution for benchmarking all businesses in New Zealand and Australia. This will mean that accountants in both countries will have access to the leading rural and non-rural databases of business performance, and only need to be familiar with the one software application. This will have three key outcomes:
1. Seamless integration with all major accountancy software
2. Rapid delivery of benchmark reports, including 10-20 minutes for a single enterprise operation (e.g. dairy or beef) and 15-30 minutes for a multiple enterprise operation (e.g. sheep beef cropping)
3. Flexible written reports (editable by users) as well as standard tabulated reports
Acclipse www.acclipse.co.nz provide software to a large number of accountancy practices in both New Zealand and Australia. Their benchmark software is branded as BenchmarkIT and more information is available by clicking here is branded as BenchmarkIT. We are now well advanced with the integration of our two products and we are planning for a release in October.
We have had an overwhelmingly positive response from rural-based accountants who have had the BenchmarkIT software demonstrated. We see it as being the essential cog that ensures a benchmarking service can be integrated within accountancy practices without the requirement for significant additional resources. DAIRY BENCHMARKS RE-RELEASED WITH 2004/05 MILK PRICES
We have recalculated all the 2003/04 dairy benchmarks for both New Zealand and Australia with the 2004/05 milk price. This means that they are relevant for use with all farm performance data being processed for 2004/05. Please note that there are now 3 separate pages on our website listing our benchmarks, one for New Zealand here, one for Australia here, and one for South Africa here
SHEEP & BEEF BENCHMARKS RE-RELEASED WITH UPDATED CALCULATIONS
We have recalculated the 2003/04 sheep and beef benchmarks for both New Zealand and Australia as there have been some improvements to a number of calculations, especially in regards to pasture and feed costs. SHEEP & BEEF DEVELOPMENTS – NEW REPORTS AND INCREASING DATABASE NUMBERS
As a result of our association with Boyce Chartered Accountants, the pre-eminent Australian sheep, beef and cropping accountancy firm based in New South Wales, we can look forward to accelerating our development and use in Australia. An immediate impact has been the launch of new sheep and beef reports. Boyce CA have been benchmarking farms for over 25 years and will be involved with future developments of Red Sky in a similar vein to the role Baker & Associates have with Red Sky in New Zealand.
SOUTH AFRICA LATEST MARKET FOR RED SKY
Red Sky has commenced the processing of data for South African dairy farmers and we expect to have our first South African benchmarks available later this year. We have converted our 2003/04 New Zealand and Victorian (Australia) benchmarks into Rand so that these can be used for immediate comparisons. Further information on this is available here
IRRIGATION FARMS
We have developed new calculations for determining the pasture harvest from irrigated versus non-irrigated areas on a farm. We are in the process of developing an Irrigation report that will include these multiple pasture harvest calculations along with a group of other key performance ratios specific to irrigated farms.
