Red Sky NEWS - January 2007

In this NEWS we discuss:

2005/06 DAIRY BENCHMARKS AVAILABLE NOW – MORE BENCHMARKS AVAILABLE SHORTLY

We have recently posted our 2005/06 Victorian benchmarks.  This includes benchmarks for Gippsland, Northern Victoria and South-West Victoria.  We have also posted our 2005/06 New Zealand dairy benchmarks to our website.  This includes national benchmarks as well as for all major regions in the country.

The continuing growth in our dairy, sheep and beef data has ensured that we are able to offer dairy benchmarks for regions throughout Victoria and New Zealand, as well as for Tasmania, South Australia and Natal (RSA).  We will shortly have dairy benchmarks for Western Australia and Eastern Cape (RSA).  Our benchmarks are expected to spread to other regions in Australia in 2007.

Our Australian regional sheep and beef benchmarks are expected to expand to other regions in 2007.  Our NZ sheep and beef benchmarks, which are presently based on farm types (rainfall and contour), are also expected to expand into regional benchmarks in 2007.

Our Australian benchmarks are listed at www.redskyagri.com/links/redsky_1_137.php and our NZ benchmarks at www.redskyagri.com/links/redsky_1_85.php.  If you would like any further information on our database then please contact us at info@redskyagri.com.

NEW DAIRY BUSINESS OF THE YEAR COMPETITION FOR AUSTRALIA LAUNCHED

A new dairy farming competition was recently launched in Australia.  The National Australia Bank and Dairy Australia Dairy Business of the Year competition was developed by Red Sky and Intelact.  The Australian Dairyfarmer, the premiere dairy publication in Australia, is a partner and will assist with promotion of the competition.  All participants will receive a comprehensive Red Sky analysis of their farm performance including a detailed written report, a graphical description of their business, and numerical reports comparing their farm with district benchmarks.

The NAB & DA Dairy Business of the Year competition will initially be run in Victoria, southern NSW and south east South Australia.  It is planned to expand to all the other mainland states in future years, as well as having the highly regarded Tasmanian Dairy Business of the Year competition become a contributor to this new competition.

The competition has been designed to focus on the key issue of profitability, and it will provide an outstanding opportunity to champion excellence in dairy business management and promote positive change on dairy farms.  For all rural professionals this is an opportunity to encourage their clients to participate in a project that should benefit the dairy industry while ensuring that they receive a comprehensive analysis of their business for $285 plus GST or less.  For further information please go to www.redskyagri.com/dboy-aus.
