JOINT VENTURE WITH ACCLIPSE

Development is continuing on a single software solution that will allow accountants to benchmark all their clients – both agricultural and non-agricultural.  This will result in a substantial reduction in the time it takes to import and process data, and increase the number of reports that are available.  Our existing import worksheets do provide some substantial time savings as compared with hand entering all data, so please do contact us if you would like to discuss this option in the interim.

KEY PROFIT DRIVERS FOR PASTURE BASED DAIRYING

Recently I spoke at the Large Herds Conference in South Africa.  Both of my papers were in relation to the key profit drivers in pasture based dairying and they brought together my thoughts on this subject.  They are now posted to our website and you may find them of use in discussing opportunities to improve performance with your clients.  If these are of interest then they are listed under New & Articles – Articles – “Key Profit Drivers in Pasture Based Dairying” and “Sorting the Best from the Rest” or by clicking here.

NEW NZ DAIRY BENCHMARKS RELEASED

There are new benchmarks now available for the Waikato and Taranaki regions, as well as for 50/50 Sharemilkers and Owners with 50/50 Sharemilkers.  These are all for 2003/04 and include actual milk prices along with $4.25 and $3.85 per kg milksolids.  The benchmarks for Owners with 50/50 Sharemilkers has some participant farms including the revenue and expenses for the sharemilker so interpretation of these figures must be undertaken with caution.

The physical data for all of these benchmarks should also be interpreted with caution as they are an amalgam of “Financial Only” accountants data with “Financial & Physical” consultant data.  However they do provide some key insights into regional differences, as well as the areas where top farmers differ from the average.  The login names for these new benchmarks are available from here.
